Dear Church Family,
I pray this message finds you safe and prepared as we continue to monitor the developments of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Based on the latest weather updates, the situation has worsened, with forecasts now indicating a delayed crossing of the cyclone which will mean exposure to damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and potential flooding in our region that will extend well into Saturday.
After careful consideration of these updated conditions and with your safety as our top priority, we have made the decision to close all church services and Sabbath School classes on our Springwood campus this Saturday. This includes the previously planned simplified church service in the front church.
We encourage everyone to stay home, prioritize their safety, and stay updated with information from local authorities and the Bureau of Meteorology. Although we won’t be gathering in person this Sabbath, we invite you to join us online for a live stream of a pre-recorded message at 11am on Saturday. We hope it offers a timely word of encouragement during this challenging time. You can access the service through the following link:

As we face this challenging weather event together, please remember to take all necessary precautions:
- Secure loose outdoor items to prevent damage or injury.
- Ensure you have an emergency kit with essentials such as water, batteries, a flashlight, and a portable phone charger.
- Stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions.
If you or someone in our church family requires assistance during this time, please do not hesitate to reach out to the pastoral team or a fellow church member. Let us continue to support one another in prayer and action, especially for those who may be more vulnerable during this cyclone.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prioritize the safety of our congregation. May God’s protection and peace be with each of you and your families throughout this time.
Blessings,
Pr Dayne Habermann
On behalf of the Springwood Pastoral Team
